At the heart of Healthy Tiffin is not just the concept of eating healthy but immersing in the authentic joy of traditional Indian cuisine. Every meal we serve is a festivity of culture, health, and sustainability. Your health is our paramount concern. We meticulously balance each meal to fulfill daily nutritional needs—protein, vegetables, healthy carbs, fiber, good fats, and probiotics, all while keeping the calorie count between 450 to 650 per serving. Drawing from the time-honored cooking techniques our ancestors passed down through generations, we strive to evoke a sense of authenticity and nostalgia with our meals.
Our approach is a tribute to the diverse and vibrant flavors of India, carefully maintaining the authenticity of each dish while adapting them to fit a health-conscious lifestyle. This means we consciously avoid the excessive use of oil and spices that can overshadow the natural taste and nutritional value of the ingredients.
For majority, we do not use nuts in our food with the exception of couple of curries. It is marked on our menu whenever used. **Please email us before ordering to ensure your dietary restrictions are met. We do top our raita with healthy seeds like flaxseed, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, poppy and sesame for added dose of nutrition. We do not use any refined oils. We have no fryers. We only use organic cold pressed coconut oil, olive oil, cold pressed organic mustard oil and ghee.
Most of our desserts are naturally sweetened by the fruit or with addition of medjool dates. We use only low glycemic maple syrup and khand/unprocessed jaggery (without sulphites) in extreme moderation to add sweetness with much needed iron and satiation
Following ayurvedic principles we strive to source local in season organic or non-gmo produce. This not only helps in delivering food that's as close to its natural state and in the ripest form (maximizing nutrition) but also reduces our carbon footprint, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
At HT we believe ones emotions pass into the food they cook. Our team does a small prayer before we begin cooking and we listen to spiritual music all day. Cooking is a spiritual journey and a huge responsibility to serve the community with food that blesses their body and soul. After all food is the primary medicine. We take our time and cook food on low to medium flame to ensure the nutrition and integrity of ingredients is maintained, just like Indian mom's never compromised on cooking techniques to maximize nutrition for their family.
Moreover, we steer clear of microwaves, freezers, and fryers, emphasizing the importance of freshness and natural flavors. By avoiding these appliances, we ensure that the food retains its nutritional profile and taste, just as it would in a traditional Indian kitchen. Our meals are homestyle curated to ensure you get your complete dose of nutrition during the week. With our Tiffin we hope to take the stress out of your workday by providing nutritious, balanced meals amidst the demands of busy, stressful lives for working individuals and couples in Bay Area. No cookware to wash, no hours in the kitchen, no last minute grocery or fast food consumption...just warm fresh meals delivered just like you would make it for your family. Hopefully some precious time left for the more important things in life.
It not only brings in nostalgia but also an opportunity to be more sustainable and healthy. Steel is the safest non reactive, no-toxic metal.
Our double walled custom tiffins with bpa free lids maintain food temperature so that once you receive it all you do is open and eat. If you plan to eat later or save some for next day, instead of microwaving we recommend you place them opened without lids in a warming drawer or in a conventional oven at 170 degrees in a tray filled with little water.
We request you return the tiffin during the week when you receive orders to keep our delivery costs low so we continue to pass on those benefits to you!
All pending empty steel tiffins and pickup up on Saturday 10am-6pm, a text is sent notifying you eta of the driver. Please leave them outside your door Friday evening with a note if you dont plan on being home.
Please rinse them with water and keep them on the porch if it is a safe neighborhood. We then send them to our warehouse to be thoroughly washed and sanitized.

As much as we would love to accommodate requests we cannot guarantee an exact slot due to traffic and the number of deliveries in your zone on any given day. We try to deliver most orders between 4pm-7pm. As we garner more customers in your neighborhood, we will be able to narrow our delivery time further.
A text with link to track your driver is sent once the Tiffin leaves the kitchen. Our logistics team is working daily to improve and add better visibility and accuracy.

All our staff is serve safe certified food handlers and our self owned facilities are health department approved (no shared cloud kitchens or unlicensed home kitchens). We follow HACCP rules and conduct regular inspections to ensure highest sanitary standards are met.
All our produce is procured from local farms and cooked same day avoiding the need for freezers that can further cause cross contamination. Our menu changes daily ensuring only fresh cooked meals are delivered to you.
We have a separate section and team to process vegetarian meals. Our tiffins and cookware are also separate to ensure no cross contamination. Our vegetarian meal team are pure vegetarian themselves, following the code of our homegrown vegetarian kitchens of separate "chullah" aka cooking area, above and beyond those set by HACCP health codes.
